I've sold my house and after I move my ass to another town I'm going to dump around $5K - $7K into my car.

Should I get some PI Stage II heads with an aggressive cam or just get a supercharger for my NPI engine? I only have 52K on my '98.

Whadda ya think?

for $7k, you can do both if you install them yourself.

Build your bottom end first, then get PI heads. Not sure what PI Stage 2 heads are or cost

Thats what I was thinking. Where are you looking to buy the heads from? If you have an NPI engine I wouldn't waste my money supercharging it. Not to mention if you do the heads first once u get the supercharger it will love the port and polished heads. Only problem with doing that is if u get cams you are going to want blower cams and I have heard that blower cams are not that great on N/A cars. Dont quote me on that and maybe somebody with a little more knowledge on that can shed some light. Personally I wouldn't do anything else to your car until you have the PI heads.

since u cant have both (compression too high on NPI bottom end with PI heads/cams) i would go with the blower

Taking out the swirl dams out of the heads should reduce your compression enough to supercharge it safely. The key thing is whether you want to build up you bottom end if you do the headswap/blower or both of these. Get the heads first if you are considering doing both.

Your best to build the bottom end, but if $5-$7K is all you've got to work with..... have the NPI heads ported, (since when ported they outflow stock PI castings anyway) not to mention will allow you to stick with the stock compression ratio and run in the 8-9psi range without worry. That will leave you a good base to start with and enough money left over for a nice centrifugal set up. You should easily see around 360-380hp at the wheels with a ported NPI/8-9psi set up.
