I finally connviced my brother to sell his 2000 Camaro SS to get a fox body. After explaining to him how easy they are to work on, and how fairly cheap the parts are, he put it on craigslist.

We went last night and picked up a bone stock, 1 owner, 92 lx hatchback for $3700. It still has the working ashtray lid, window sticker with all paperwork, and spare tire with all the tools. The owner did install an aluminum radiator with electric fan, and a flowmaster cat back.

Our goal is to keep the motor stock, and hopefully run around a 13.0 with all suspension mods. I will post pics tonight, and Friday we will have a base line quarter mile run.

Sounds like a good deal. How many miles, if you don't mind me asking? I paid a little more than that for my '87 hatch recently (95k miles, original owner also).

As for getting to 13.0, it will not be likely with a stock motor. Even with serious weight stripping (rear-seat, carpet pull out), this is a tall order.

To give you an idea: I had a buddy who claims he ran a 13.6 with a stock motor (89 LX hatch), full-length headers, 3.73 rear end and minor bolt ons. My '90 with GT40P heads, headers, full exhaust and some other mods ran a 13.8 (though I had traction issues with street tires).

high goals for a stocker. I like the ambitiousness though. You will more than likely need motor work though. How many miles are on the motor??

FYI-this is probably better suited for talk, dont be offended if it gets moved there. welcome to stangnet and put up those pics before peeps start flaming LOL

I'll post pics when I get off work, I knew ya'll would say something.

Cars got 123k on it.

We got about $4000 to work with on suspension, tires and rear end. Not going cheap on any parts.

I know a 13.0 is stretching it, would be happy with mid 13's.

I ran a 13.8 with minor bolt on's and a set of slicks. 25thmustang runs 12's with a stock headed motor and suspension work.

You guys are nay-sayers. Lots of people out there that have run 12s in Foxes without going into the engine. Hell, either MM&F or 5.0M&SF (can't remember which) just did it maybe a year ago with a project car.
