500 CID. Try to locate some DOVE heads from the early 70's. Personally, I think the 385 series engines are the best Ford makes. It will be pretty heavy for a Fox, but if you are going in a straight line, it won't matter. You should be a rocket by the time you get it sorted out.

5 sets of DOVE heads on ebay right now. You really don't need to go the stroker route with a 460, Just put the money into quality components instead. A buddy had a stock crank/rod 460 w/ worked DOVE heads put down over 550lb-ft from basically right off idle till 6000 rpm. It was in a truck, but he beat many a car. On a side note, he first went with KB hyper-u-craptic's, and literally pulled the wrist pin out of the piston after about three days. Needless to say, he went forged.

Right i'm not to sure if i'm gonna go the stroker route yet? This will be a slowly build up for me, as for the funds are alot tighter now. I will if i keep it be doing top notch stuff in it tho, i was also told it should make around those numbers on the power level! So far the guy with the GT flaked out on me from C/L I've even thought of going with a 4eyed coupe also? Not to sure yet , i will take pics tonight and post them. peace

A 4-eyed coupe would be badass! Or an early 80's GT.

Since that 460 is fresh, you should think about whether or not you really want to stroke it. After all, you've already got 160 cubes on us 5.0 guys!

I've heard 460 Foxes are a rocket in a straight line.

Well call me stupid or weird? But i was thinking of stripping the 93 and selling it as a chaisy and getting an older (4 eye) or just swaping over to the 4 eye set up? But yes wheni get the B.B done it's home will be in either the 93 ssp coupe or a 4eye and will be a stright line car! If things go right and the funds improve it will be done for next year!? Jeff what do you think wally will want for the crank and heads? Money wont be a question it's just whenever i have it to throw at it, but i will do it right the first time! But then again all i really need is a tranny (if the 5.0 tremac wont work) and all the acc's and a carb and a set of L/T's! peace

heads are now sold (I think around 5K) and not sure about the crank. The best way to get ahold of him is to PM him on HeadsupNW.com

Well, I am no C4 expert, but lets see. Almost any Ford car or truck w/ an auto before 1980 will have a C4, it should not be hard to find a core. There are a lot of companies out there that make quality C4 components. If you want to buy a complete unit, Art Carr makes em with a brake for about 2k, FB makes a decent unit, and quite a few others. PA makes a killer unit, but pricey. Personaly, I do not think they make a good AOD, but their C4's are pretty tough. Check out clickclickracing.com forums, alot of good auto info over there.

go to pull a part in lynnwood their is usaly at least one set of DOVE or the early (pre 1973) passenger car 429 heads (they are esentialy the same thing) and they turn over their invantory really fast. You can get a set of heads for like 60 bucks,
My vote is put it into a capri
