Picking up a new 04 Cobra tommorrow...am I excited BOY HOWDIE

I picked my Black 2004 Cobra up today!

Man I'm telling you what.

I took it out for a test drive...and that clutch scared the hell out of me! LOL
I was like damn that's tight. And ohhhh Shiiiiiiiit. :p I was actually a little intimidated by the clutch at first. I mean crap I have driving a stock GT for about 5 years until recently. I was like...."lets go look at the Mach I"

Took it out...it was an AT good lord what a waste. I mashed the peddle and nothing.....it was pretty so so...spunky but lacking. Granted we had to men in the car in excess of 450lbs I think.

But the Cobra pulled oh sooooo very niceeeeeee.... :hail2:

Anyhow I got it. And well it freaking poured rain all the way home. And best yet. My wife was co-signing and she was recovering from oral surgery so she was at home. So the dealer drove my new Cobra to my house while I drove my GT. (no trade in for me....open market sell). So then I drive him all the way back to the dealership. And this is 60mile one way trip. LOL

Anyhow went to the store as soon as I got home and got a six pack and a pie for me wife. LOL

I could not believe the kid graggle standing in the doors of safeway pointing at my new ride. I guess it's Saturday night in the ozarks... :spot:

I love this car.

I need to wait a few weeks to learn to drive this puppy before I even think about mods. Maybe a few months!

Question: Do you need to rev it...or just mash the peddle to get full power. I don't know this because It's still pouring rain! LOL

Eric

p.s. I'm VERY satisfied with my deal. I did get the 75K extended warranty as well. but that and stop gap is all that I purchased extra.

Anyone recommend a good teflon or clearcoat finish product?

Mmmmm black. :nice: Mine too.

Leave the traction control on especially in the rain. At least until you get used to the power delivery.

Where did you buy it?

Does it have all black seats?

I went back into my e-mail for the exact details. This is from an e-mail I received from Brian Camp at Bowen Scarff on August 4th.

"Ford announced a $3,000 factory rebate on remaining new 2004 Cobras yesterday. If you know anyone looking for one we now have them starting at just $29,550 with the rebate and none of ours are over $29,950"

His e-mail address is [email protected] -- I would definitely e-mail him, not just drop in and visit them in person (although I've heard they're one of the better dealers). The address for Bowen Scarff is 1157 Central Ave N, Kent, WA 98032. And he signs his name as "Internet Sales Manager ~and~ Mustang Enthusiast", so maybe he's not just a sales droid :).

Good luck,
Dave

Thanks Dave. I went to their site but they dont have any VERTS so its a no go. Only way I am going to get rid of my 400+Rwhp S3 Roush is for a 03/04 VERT cobra.

Congrats on your purchase OM. Have fun and be safe in that new car... :nice:

Hmmm I think so...black with a kinda a gray suede. Yep.

Landmark Ford in Tigard or Lake Oswego. I like them I trust the service dept. I had some work done on my GT there once.

Ok so...yet again it's raining.

Oh well. I was going to wax my car.....but alas it's raining again! Ahhhhhhh

So someone told me to change my oil when I first got the car. I guess I could do that today! LOL

What kind of wax do yal use? I'm using McGuiers products on my GT now. How about yal? Maybe a K&N today as well. LOL

And a new Hayes or Chilton manual

I had to claybar mine before the first coat of wax went on. I've been using Meguires NXT. Easy on easy off and hides the swirl marks. Ask Ed he is the Cobra waxin' uber geek. :rlaugh:

Oh ya, another tip for the love and care of the black Cobra. Use an electric leaf blower to dry it. The more you touch the paint the more swirl marks.

I have heavy water...no leaf blower for me...

Yeah I have some serious power tools....go figure. LOL

I just picked up this Honda Trimmer/Weed Wacker. GOOD LORD!

I had a Sthil but got the 2 stroke beauty....and it's a freaking beast. 2 handles harness...."yeah yeah yeah yeah" ~Tiny X-NRK

I have been looking for a 10th anniversary or a mystic vert recently as well. Prices have most definitely fallen in the last few weeks. Most of the new '03 and '04 cobras have fallen below the 30K mark on the sticker prices. Thomason wanted around 40K for their mystic vert last week. I am planning to buy in the next two months, and have no qualms about finding a vert, however I hope I can still locate a mystic vert. As far as problems with the cars...they are nowhere near as bad as modifying my 95GT. When I weigh the opportunity cost of "finishing" my GT versus buying and modifying an '03 or '04, I choose to purchase the cobra.
