pics of eibach drag springs

when i took the bolts out the A-arm came down at an angle and wedged itself inside the k-member, so i had the bright idea of putting the jack about an inch under the spring and i hit the arm with a hammer, when the a-arm hit the jack, the handle flew back and cracked me in the head, it felt like someone ran up and hit me with a baseball bat. Sounded that way too.

probly one of the dumbest things i ever did working on a car, but i didnt have much of a choice to get the spring out, the car had no motor, so everytime i tried to jack it up, the whole car would raise and i was getting nowhere. Im still alive and ive got the lump to prove it.

Probably a different story when you've got some weight on the front end, then. Many, many folks been doing it with a jack for years without issues. The hose clamp thing just sounds dangerous as all hell to me - sort of like using a cigarette lighter to ignite a really short fuse on an M-80.

cigarette lighter. pshht, i use a cigarette to light my M-80's. I was kidding about the hose clamp thing, and i agree it would have gone smoothly if there was the weight of the trans and the motor in the car.

what da problem is!?!?!?!? i thought someone finally agreed with me that hose clamps rule. lol. when i cut my springs i am gonna try it your way darkwriter, hopefully i dont catch a jack handle to the dome-piece ide be pretty upset.

if anyone finds out the correct amount to cut off these springs PLEASE let me know

ahhhh little bit of both lol

there was a guy called 1sickfox or something like that who tried it with success, and told people about it. and then he got called every name in the book and he kinda went away. then there was this other guy named riceslayer302, total prick, who tried it on his own and made a thread about how it worked, and everyone called him a d-bag and what-not. its a long story and i think the thread got deleted because it was nearing oil under car rustproofing/worst thread eva/my pet rooster is missing status. lol

i can tell you it works... i can tell you ive done it more than once... i can tell you that you need to be either insane, have nerves of steal, or be one cheap bastard to try it. i think i qualify as all three.
