Wiring a 2.2k ohm resistor between a 12v power wire and the signal wire to the tach works, but I don't think it's accurate. It's pretty close at idle, but it seems pretty lazy when you rev it. I tried changing it to 6 teeth but that made it worse. I'm just going to get an aftermarket tach now, but at least I won't have a completely dead gauge.
