hi guys, i have my interior out right now doing a heater core and floor pan, i would like to put some guages in while the firewall is exposed. I would like to see some pictures of what you guys have, i would like to keep the interior clean, i was thinking 2 or 3 guages but i cant decide to put them on the pillar or just bolt them on the dash, i also have a shift light that i was gonna throw somewhere. Im planning on going with autometer pro-comp series, i have white face guages already on my cluster.

any pics would be greatly appreciated

I'm not a fan of huge guages that everyone can see from outside the car. Here is my simple setup, I got a small autoguage/autometer tach on the steering column and an oil + temp guage cluster in the middle vents. I removed the stock tach and guages on the left of the OE cluster as to not have two tachs visible (another pet peeve - yeah I'm a weirdo).

I made a replacement cluster so I can add some nice new autometer phantom guages (tach, speedo, fuel level, etc...) but those guages cost a little too much for now so I went with the "cheep" version for the time being.

I picked up this piece from mc-machine.com that allows you to install Autometer gauges in place of the stock gauges. Sorry, no picks from my side yet, still saving up for the gauges. It seems like a nice solution if you want a low profile, stock look for your gauges.

AutoMeter Phantoms - Temp, Oil and Volts (in that order). I also wanted to keep imy interior clean along with keeping my A/C vents free. I modified my stereo mount to house the gauges.

Probably not what you had in mind - but it may help you with ideas. These are all factory or dealer optional gauges - from left to right - tach, speedo, fuel/temp (hidden by wheel rim), fuel economy (vacuum), oil temp, oil pressure, voltage, and just below the 4 small ones a custom electric cooling fan 'tach' to tell me how fast the electric cooling fans are working.
Note all of them are up high right in the line of sight of the driver.

88 where did you get the triple a pillar pods? Or is that something you rigged up yourself?

Not too many guages, just a tac and fuel pressure guage.

Wow, that looks good. The only reason I havn't purchased the MC Machine Panel is because of it's unfinished aluminum look, did you paint that black yourself? Or do they sell them in black as well? If so, what kind of paint did you use and did you have to primer it first? Thanks.

(sorry, don't have any experience with painting aluminum heh)
