i have a stock 02 gt and i wanted some opinions on wather i should do side exhaust or not. i wanna see pictures of cars with side exhaust and with out and what u think looks best and the cheapest. is there any way to custom do side exhaust.

im really leaning towards it but it costs an arm and leg to get the cdc kit. is there a kit cheaper than CDC that is like it? i was wonderin is there any other ways and the COBRA R is ok but i dont know pics please and opinons.

Correct me if i am wrong but don't you lose hP + TQ when you install a side exhaust kit? But they are sweet looking with a nice saleen body kit.

The older side exhaust systems cost you HP because of the change in exhaust direction causing an unnatural turn. But with the newer designs side exhaust will net almost the same as a regular cat back. The only reason that some people were forced to run side exhaust is because of the rear suspension set up. The rear exit cat back will give maybe 1-2 HP more than a side exhaust. The Steeda side exhaust did give 2 rwhp more than the Flowmaster American Thunder cat back.

One thing to note is that with side exhaust you get more exhaust noise in the car. On slightly colder nights it looks so bad a$$ to see the exhaust gases ride up the sides of the car. I have the SVO/Borla kit on my 96gt and there is a noticable difference in power compaired to stock exhaust. Thats just from what i have experienced...
