I love it, one of the best looking 69-70 coupes I've seen. I wouldn't change a thing other than the mudflaps, which you're gonna do anyway.

I remember the way your car looked a few months back, when it was jacked up in the back and had different wheels on it. A simple lowering and wheel swap really brought it up to date, looks great.

As for the old stance/wheels/tires...lol were you refering to this picture?

I still have a soft spot for the old look. Heck, I grew up in the 80's... the coolest cars around had that "jacked up with huge tires" look. However, I've been working hard at trying to "modernize the classic". I've put in power windows, power locks with keyless entry, new stereo, modern-style white face guages with blue lighting, etc. This winter I'm hoping to convert to EFI. So in the new spirit of the car, the old stance just wasn't working. Plus I'm at a point where I'd rather sacrifice a little off the line traction for some better handling in the corners.

I sold the rims and tires (with center caps and chrome lugs) for a song... $350(CDN) to a co-worker who plans on installing them on his 71 coupe.

To lift the rear I did it a little ghetto style... used longer shackles (they were adjustable). I still had rubbing problems with additional passangers and a full tank of gas, so I also put in air-shocks. Then I only put pressure in them when I was planning on carrying more than 1 passanger (which wasn't very often). I put the filler right in the trunk, so it was easy to access.

Seemed to work OK, except I hated how you could see the spring hanging down from the longer shackle. Look at the "before lowering" pic... you can see the spring clear as day. Also handling seemed to suffer due to the longer shackles letting the springs move side to side more...as well as increased body roll. Adding the rear anti-sway bar made a huge improvement tho.

The absolute best way to do it would be to do a "spring over" conversion on your rear axle. Basically having the spring go "over" the axle instead of "under". Pretty simple process actually... just weld in new spring pearches(can be bought), cut off the old perches, and flip the eye bolt in your spring.

Where can i get the longer "adjustable" shackles from?

Im also in the proccess of modenising my interior, I also have installed the white face indiglo gauges, i have new camaro Z-28 seats.......I know i know chevy seats, but they were free, had like 6,000 miles on them and IMO go really well with the car. along with a nice stereo system.....I would like to one day put power windows and door lockes in.......If i was to go to keyless entry i might decide toshave the door handles, i saw a 69 mach like this and it looked sexy lol

I forget where I got them... from a local shop I think.

They were just generic shackles. Local suspension shop should be able to get them for you.

Your ride is awesome, evertime I look at my multicolor (primer,green and rust) coupe I have visions of grandure that look a lot like your car, Thanks for the inspiration!! Have you thought about putting the black plastic up front like the Mach 1's it might look sharp, just my 2 cents

Yes, I've considered adding the chin spoiler. It'll probably happen sooner or later.... next time I do some paint work probably. I also plan on switching to a GT style rear valance so that I can lift the exhaust tips up a little.

im not really into that year,but that came out nice.And dont listen about the wheels being too big,whoever says put 16" is living in the 80's still.Looks really good.

18" on a 69-73 look just fine, IMO. Very nice look. I am, however, in favor of 16" on the 65-66. Your taste is definitely improving ... compared to the "before" pics! Very nice looking coupe.

Would love to... just need to scrape together the cash. Since I bought a house, my "mustang money" has been in very short supply. Almost couldn't afford to insure her this summer.

To be honest... before I upgrade to fancy rotors in the front, I'd like to upgrade to disk breaks in the rear.
