Are you guys reading this part? If by street car he means a 10 second street car, then maybe. If he wants a daily driver then he is on the wrong path. 30# injectors, 75mm TB, and a hot cam will not give him a very streetable ride. Custom tune all you want, but from idle up to 4K will really suck.
I have to say that last sentence is not what I and others have found and the reason is exactly due to the custom cam & tune.
Two examples to show where I'm getting my thoughts.
1) My combo, the pull is in the sig for anyone to see that from idle to 4K rpm ...... its not too shabby in the torque department.
Some may say that my combo is a little lacking due to it not quite reaching the 300 rwhp mark so lets look at another combo for example two.
2) GTJake's combo, he put up numbers of 326rwhp & 341rwtq so his combo is a bit more hotter than mine.
There have been threads lately where not only Jake and myself but other peeps with combos in this same category have stated that the drivability is near stock like and as for myself, cam lope is the ONLY thing that is different form driving a stocker.
Two things are common in a lot of those combos.
1) custom cam
2) custom tune
Do you have to either or both to make 300 rwhp or better..........................
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
We are talking about cars with the
ability to go high 11's to high 12's in the 1/4 so they are not that radical. We are not talking 10 second cars here.
About those 30lbs inj's ...... if you make the adjustments needed, they will behave like 19's on a street car. Same goes for 36's and 42's also. That is all about a custom tune.
It looks to me that you are trying to make peeps think that a car that has been custom tuned, running a custom cam, and using 30lb injectors is not gonna be very streetable and is gonna have a poor low end rpm torque range.
I have done it and IMHO, what is more impressive is others have who put up better numbers than me have done it as well.
