Ahhhh..... gotchya! Thanks for combining them foe me

I just simply can't understand why the guy said "oh the part is supposed to be here Friday" and it never showed. I don't want to completely piss him off or be to pushy because I want him to do a good job on my car. Do you think it would be appropriate to ask for a tracking number or something just to know where the part is or IF it has even shipped? I don't have much experience with older vehicles (all of my others were under Dealer service plans or warranty). Maybe I'm over analyzing the whole thing and being to obsessive. I assume that when someone says "I have already ordered and paid for the part it should be here on X day" that the part in question is in fact on its way. My luck, it's on some eternal back order list never to be seen again. I am a walking example Murphy's Law. Currently, my plan is to wait until Monday afternoon to see if the part arrives. If not, I will be ordering one from Pro-Force and having it rush delivered. Then, I'll simply take it to the mechanic and say "here ya go put it on". Someone mentioned though that some mechanics don't like using parts that they didn't order because most have a trusted supplier or source. Not knowing whether my part is good or not may pose an issue. What say you? Thanks by the way for your patience. I appreciate all of the input that I've received so far!
