I think that my high fuel pressure and hard stumble is due to a pinched fuel line. I changed my fuel pump and think the line(s) didn't get pinched. When I replace the tank how should I route them. I have them going to the side, but they are getting pinched by the top of the tank and the car. I will try to get a picture of them, but until then..is there a trick to routing the fuel lines so they don't get pinched?.

It looks like they are crossing each other as they pass between the tank and the body. See if you can manipulate them side by side there and let them cross in the open if they need to. They shouldnt be stacked like that.

What is you fuel pressure? If thats the return line thats pinched it will make pressure rise. Thats how you test for a bad regulator. Have you pulled codes? If not do a search on Jrichker here and you will find easy to follow steps to read them without a scanner. The Haynes repair manuals tell you how to pull them too.

isnt there supposed to be some sort of shim (dense foam stuff) between the tank and body? i thought so, which would keep the tank from crushing the lines.
Jerry probably knows about that. good luck.
