Places to Drive Fast?

I know of the track... but rather than a 1/4 mile of straight track, or a relatively short road corse, which is pretty expensive, I'd like a freeway, or equivelant... like 10 years ago, in Montana :D

-and yes, a Traxx meet would be helpful :nice: I'm getting that really hard to suppress urge to race again... and the track season was freaking short!

In other words you want to find some place to go fast enough to put you in a ditch and not come out in good shape. Just take it to the track.

They didn't used to have a speed limit here, but the guideline was still "safe and prudent". They quickly figured out that people had no idea what that meant.

 seriously, would you? if you (meaning, anyone) had no limitations, how stupid would we act? (sorry, it's the "deep meaning" part of my replies now :rlaugh:) but.... wasn't it the AC Cobra that made them set speed limits in the first place?!!? stupid overpowered muscle car :rlaugh:

3 am in the morning on any highway will sure let you redline your car in all 5 gears, you will be surprise on how many peoples will want to race a mustang.

Sept 9, you can go and run at PIR as fast as you can handle your car safely for about $110 with the Shelby club. There are lots of clubs that you can run on the track for generally a total of 80 minutes. I think the other clubs you can run for about $90. This is a lot cheaper than 1 ticket, it is legal, and safer for YOU and everyone else.

places to drive fast

i know this guy that races corvettes at pir and he is always trying to get me to go, i think he says he races autocross or something like that. anyways, he said it is $25 dollars to run your car if your not a member and $20 if u are a member. so u might want to check this out to satisfy your need for speed. he goes out there most weekends i believe.

Take your car to PIR on Oct. 4 , run with the ShelbyClub. You will get a driver orientation your first day, a few laps around track with a skilled person in their car and get to learn your car much better. Far cheaper than a trip to germany, and much safer too. Check out saacnw.org for details.
You get to run in 20-30 minute sessions at a time, bet your ass if you went balls out down I-5 for 30 minutes youd be dead or incarcerated. Promise it will fill your need for speed, and maybe even make you in a bit of awe as far as what you and your machine are capable of. So go flush your brake lines put on some new brake pads and get ready to have some real fun. :nice:
