Now with the winter I have a few overdue upgrades planned for the 5.0.

Upgrades planned So far:
3G Alt and wiring update
Hi Flow fuel pump
AFPR
King Cobra clutch
Shifter handle

*Scouting bone yards for a wrecked 5.0 Explorer

I will be addressing the 3G install this weekend, but I have a couple questions regarding the fuel pump upgrade.

I've noticed 155-lph/45psi , 190-lph/100 psi , and 255-lph pumps. I don't plan on a supercharger, but a small shot of Nitrous may be in the more distant future. Therefore I was thinking the 190-lph pump would be enough to handle that. Am I thinking correctly?

My other question regards the clutch upgrade. Specifically a quadrant adjuster, (I think that was what it was called, I know a few of you have one) Does this simply adjust the pedal engagement point? I'm pretty happy with my current clutch feel/engagement so is the adjuster really necessary, and if so are they easy to install/adjust/use?

As for the Comp+ shifter handle... its more of a "want" that isn't necessary, but it would give me more of that "cool retro muscle car feel" that I like.

Besides, how many Mustang owners can say their shifter is a Mopar Pistol Grip I think I've been watching Vanishing Point a little bit too much lately!

Just go with the 255 pump.
It shouldnt hurt anything, or make the car run any richer.

Since the car has a fuel return line all unused gas goes back into the tank.

I plan on installing a 255 pump and a new fuel sender...since the original one reads ~5 gallons low...

255 high pressure pump for the nitrous if its a dry kit. Use a standard 255 if its a wet kit. You don't need an AFPR. An aftermarket quadrant and firewall adjuster are necessary IMO.

Oh maybe I'll switch the budget from an AFPR to an quadrant and adjuster then. I can afford both though so if I need both its not an issue.

However if I change from a 38 psi pump to a 100 psi pump isn't that going to "overpower" the injectors or other and cause possible problems? I'm afraid I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to EFI.
