Is anybody doing any group purchases on aftermarket intakes? $700 off effectively would be *really* nice for a new bullitt intake or something. Mine is cracked in 2 spots and needs to be replaced.

For those that haven't gotten their notice in the mail yet:

Ford is about to lose a major class action lawsuit, which to us means we can:
A) Get a brand new intake with aluminum crossover installed by a dealer for free
B) Be reimbursed (Up to $735 I think) for having it replaced.

i just bought a 2000 mustang a couple of months ago how do i know its its still the plastic one? also does this mean that i can take it to any ford dealer and they will replace it for free?? no questions asked? or does it have to be broken?

Heh.. just knock on it with your knuckles and see if it feels like plastic :)

This is the intake with the aluminum crossover, the old one (like the one on your 2000 GT mat82284) will be all black...

ok then mines the plastic one. can i take it to them for a replacement? or do i have to wait intill this crap breaks? i also dont have the ford letter for the recall cause i just registered it a week ago. and my vins not on that list whats up with that. so what do i have to do to get it changed by ford?

looks like a lot of bad information is being thrown out there so i'll try to clear some of it up:

-ford does sell npi intakes w/ the aluminum crossover and so do several aftermarket companies. if you take your car to a dealer to have the plastic intake replaced this is what they will replace it with if you have an npi motor.

-once the lawsuit is settled, you will have i think 90 days to get the repair verified by a ford dealer. if they count pi intakes on npi motors as well i do not know.

-i'm not completely sure about how much ford will reimburse you, but i do know that the $735 price is if you have no receipts for repairs.
