Please Help,5.0 Ho Swap Into F150

Yeah...here we like Grumpy150

I do know the camshaft numbers should be right behind the camshaft gear.

The gt40 heads flow a lot better than the mustang e7 or truck heads.

I've seen people use gt40 heads with short Accel header spark plugs and 90 degree plug boots with BBK headers on mustangs.

A stock mustang engine had 225hp....the gt40 heads, intake, and aftermarket camshaft should get around 300hp relatively easy.

There are a lot of camshaft choices for a roller 302.

That head gasket is a ford factory felpro one. The orange always throws me off a bit. Most aftermarket ones have either blue around the ports, are graphite, or are multi layer steel.

I think the trucks use a different oil pan and pick up tube. I don't think anyone mentioned that previously.

Are you going to send it to the machine shop or clean it up as is ? If it came out a running car nothin' wrong with a little cleaning and a rattle spray and throwin' it in the truck.

Actually when I picked up them manifolds the guy said he had the motor coming out of his ford ranger mud racing truck. He claimed it had had some head work done and a mild cam. And he sprayed nitrous on it and cracked a ring. He said throw rings in it and your good to go.nitrous breaks a lot of rings becuse there the weakest point. But you guys already helped me figure out he lied or didn' know the truth. The guy he got it from was the liar I bet. Anyway that's not my truck motor unless I change my mind. I was going to post the heads with What he called pocket porting. But if them are stock head gaskets I'm at a loss because then thats two lies. Will see what you guys think of them. and if you catch on. there might be a hiddin second agenda in the mix. Lol thanks guys ill I'd both motors post pictures of the actual motor I bought for the swap. and the heads off this other motor I'm starting to wonder if it' a crown Vic motor. But he claimed it was a ho. We will see

Yes, your truck intake will fit the gt40 heads, look at the front of the head where the accessories bolt on, three bars or 4 bars, the 4 bar heads will have different plug angle, it makes plug changes challenging with regular headers, I don't know if they make headers for the 4 bars heads anymore,
What are you goals for the truck? Just a driver, towing or ?
It' going to be a driver and we do a lot of trail riding and i would like to pull a trailer nothing yo big but ya I need the too

The short answer is 'do it'. Swap the truck stuff over and ride off into the sunset.
Oh, and the torque numbers at 2400 rpms is 271 point something
Again, google (automotive catalog website)

That thing looks like it had a little oil getting in that cylinder. Those e7te heads are factory heads. Not sure on the year.

Tearing engine's apart on an engine stand is a hole lotta fun. I've got one sitting in my shed i can't wait to get into.

That second cylinder from the bottom has a slight maring in it. Im pretty sure it will have to be bored which isnt so bad i wanted to make a 306 out of it anyway.at least i think it had the mustang heads on it. I dont know what to beileve and what not to after he led about half of it.
