Hey Gang,

I'm stuck, I am having a hard time deciding which carb to go with.

Choice 1,) Is the ProForm 650 Mech Sec.

Choice 2.) Is the Might Demon 650 Mech Sec

Both are the same money, both offer near identical features, (my biggest requirement is the ability to replace the Air bleeds and Idle feeds (they do that)

Only thing is the Mighty Demon offers some IDEL EZE thing (I am still trying to understand how it works).

this is for a 331 stroker.

I currently have a demon 625 Vac sec. it is a decent carb.

any opinions is appreciated thanks.

So they are both.. sub standard.. Dang they have the features I want at a price that won't kill the bank.

Which carb do you guyz recommend? Nothing entry level though, the ability to custom tune is a MUST.

Holley, Holley, Holley.

Fully tuneable, easy to fix, parts everwhere, a size for every application.

and doesn't cost nearly what you will pay for those fancy-schmancy carbs....

I got a mighty demon, the reason I bought it was like you said for the tunability and idle bleeds. With demon you need to be willing to put some time aside to understand them and you can run them fine(I am still learning). The Holley HP series carbs that offer the idle bleeds and such is the corresponding carb, which doesn't have as many features, and costs $600. That was what I originally wanted but the mighty demon seemed like a better deal. My friend bought the exact one for his camaro that you are using and it runs like a charm now.

Which model? the holleys that seem to have the same features as the rest (idle feed adjust etc) seem to be 200 plus dollars more. which i think is crapola

I dunno, My buddy ordered a Pro Systems carb and it came with a Pro-Form main body (no relation). Patrick James is one smart cookie, I think he'd know if the Pro-Form was junk or not.

Something I've found out about part made in China, true, the costs are cheaper, even shipping them overseas, but they make stuff to whatever specifications are laid out to them, so a lot of stuff you can blame on cheap people who want to make an extra buck. Years ago you could get anything decent, but they have top notch technology now folks, and if you want to stay in the game, you have to play the game.

Demon's QC seems to have gone down the crapper...early ones were great, but now Summit won't carry them due to return rate. ProForm anybody?

If you follow the pre-installation procedure to the letter, and check the carb for cnc shavings, you should be fine. I think this is the main reason for ppl returning them; shavings pluging up the fuel passages, making it impossible to tune.
I baught mine from Summit, no problems with it, but I did find aluminum shavings inside it. Cleaned it out, mounted it, and no problems what so ever.
I'd go with Demon.:Teh-Win:
