Please Help me Diagnose this Engine Noise

I recently put in a 2001 PI engine with forged internals that I assembled myself. It makes this ticking noise, which you can hear at idle in the video it increases in speed based on engine RPM. If you watch the exhaust it almost looks likes its missing, any help is appreciated

Holy Sh** that is a loud ticking noise! I hate to tell you this but I would gess it has something to do with the way you installed the new internals. Does the sound go away as the engine warms up or is it there all the time?

When did the problem first arise? Right from the get go?

Were ALL clearance specs checked and in manufacturer specs? (<-whether ford or aftermarket). Did you assemble the heads as well? No brainer, but all torque specs are correct right? Things need to be dead on, its not like we are playing with inches here...these are measurements you just cant look at and say "yep, its good".

Did you prime the oil system prior to start up?

The sound is always there regardless of the duration the engine has been running. Yes it began from the moment I first started the engine. All torque specs were followed. The internals were all set up and balanced by livernois motorsports, and all tolerances regarding them were measured. I did not assemble the heads, I did have to replace one exhaust valve, before installing the heads. I primed the engine by cranking it for about 2 min or so before letting it start to circulate the oil. When I put a stethoscope on the block on where the crank and rods would be I hear no distinguishable tick. Could it possibly be an exhaust leak? What tests should I be doing to start trying to diagnose it? It has not thrown any CEL's yet.

Unplug each injector connector one at a time. If the noise goes away, you know that cylinder is having problems.

It sounds more like a bad lifter/exhaust leak to me.

I'd try the injector trick mentioned above, worth a shot and wont take long.

What would be the easiest way to tell if it is a bad lifter or a large exhaust leak?
