Please Help Need A New Tranny And Im Not Sure What To Get

Will a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6L transmission work in a 1996 mustang gt? I've been looking around evrywhere for a cheap used tarnsmission and its near to impossible to find the transmission i need out of a mustang. I've heard that thunderbirds and grand marquis trannys will work but im not sure what year of those cars i should be looking for. If anyone can point me in the right direction ill be greatly appreciated thank you

Look for a 4r70w out of similar year cars and you should be fine
