Took my car in the shop today with a problem getting my car into 2nd gear. They found that I needed a new clutch /bearing/ and pressure plate. They have to fix some things inside the transmission that are still under warranty. I want to get a better clutch than the OEM one but don’t have a lot of cash. There gonna charge 390 for parts and labor for the above mentioned items. Labor is 150 of that. I don’t mind going up in price a little( like 50 or 75 dollars). I need some recommendations on what to get and where to get it. I need to make sure I get all the parts I need. I know nothing about cars and would appreciate any help. My car is a 2002 gt convertible (stock). Also does the clutch kits come with the bearing and the pressure plate? I need help quick because I need to get the part here as soon as possible.

Your best bet is gonna be to contact your local performance parts store or a transmission shop you trust. Otherwise you can look in some magazines for parts. I found these two places off hand in MM&FF: www.poweredbyford.com
www.downsford.com
They both advertise aftermarket clutches and transmission parts. I am no expert in transmissions so I don't even know if there are aftermarket parts for the tremec trannys. Hope this helps a little.
