hi i have an 89 LX that was converted from 4 cyl to V8. Heres the mods.. 70mm BBK TB, cobra upper n lower intakes, E303 cam, mac shorty headers,electric fan, and stock heads... i also have a bigger than stock maf.. not quite sure wat size... Well anywayz here r some problems... when driving at high rpms or high speed if i come to stop or let off the gas... its starts to die until eventually it dies out.... also i dont know but my friend suggested that maybe it stilll has a 4cyl wiring harness and thats why it might be acting funny... the reason he says is because we only found one plug for an o2 sensor... we didnt plug it in because we didnt want one side to be running richer than the other... also it has an 8LD computer.... ive looked around but havent found any info on this computer i just keep hearing A9L... it might be an issue because we suspect the car used to be automatic as well...also when cruising at low RPMs the car gets real jerky... could it be the clutch...? also recently i noticed that i can turn on the car without pushing in the clutch....? any ideas? well the bottom end of the motor is gone as the motor is knockin but that happened recently.... it wont let me past like 3.5k rpms the engine cuts off... well all the above problems astarted before the enginge knock except for the engine cutting off... any help/ or suggestions would be greatly appreciated... thnx also i am going to be buying a used engine with about 80k miles and im going to swap the c/i . i plan on getting aluminum heads but that will be for a couple of months.... i plan on goin maybe wit some gt40p heads for now.... i was planning on upgrading to the F cam... is that a bad idea...? i like the E cam but i want somethign a little more choppy... i plan on running nitrous too...
 
the car has to have a V8 harness in order for all the engine stuff to be hooked up , or else you would have only 4 injector plug ends and the engine wouldnt run like that , sounds like to me you just need a V8 computer and it should be fine after that , and the oxygen sensor harness it seperate from the computer harness so I think you would need to get that harness as well so you have both o2 sensors plugged in and working properly , you might find the plug there if you look harder for it , since if they swapped the whole harness from the computer they probably got it from a junkyard and they should have gotten all of the right plugs and all for it for the o2s ... it might be hidden under the car somewhere ......they need to be plugged in , both of them ........
