I never ever torque intake bolts, I've seen plenty of guys strip heads and break bolts doing so. If they are tight they are tight in my opinion. I typically tighten the bolts by hand (ratchet) and check them after the motor has had a few heat cycles in it.

Never, I've had the intakes off of a few hundred of these cars without issue. I use a small amount of RTV on the water passages and "Right Stuff" on the front and back of the lower manifold
Big difference in foot pounds vs inch pounds.Make sure your torque wrench is right. It could be out of calibration and make sure you're setting the torque setting right as well
Are you using rusty bolts? Or maybe cheap Chinese imitation bolts?
Look at the bolt heads you should see at least a 3 pointed star like the Mercedes-Benz hood ornament. The 3 point star is a grade 5 bolt and is the minimum that I would use on anything automotive.
Use a tap or preferably a thread chaser to clean out the bolt holes. The threads on the bolts for the intake manifold are 5/16-18. Use lots of WD40 when you clean the threads, squirt as you turn. Use the red soda straw to squirt some WD40 in the bolt holes after you have run the thread chaser or tap through them to flush out any rust, dirt or scale you cut loose..
Homemade thread chaser - if you have one of the handheld small cutoff tools with a 3/32" or 1/16" thick wheel you can do this:
One to pcv, one to egr, third to the vacuum tree. You also need one for the fuel pressure regulator. Grab a y fitting.
