Tried many shifter boots over the years and I think the stock setup is the hot ticket.
Take your stock boot if only a few cuts, and superglue the cuts/tears. Then you will likely have to make a larger circle to fit the Hurst shifter (for sure on Pro5.0). And the leather cover and back in action.
The problem with the aftermarket boots is they are made for long handled 70's shifters. Short throw toploaders move too much for the design of most aftermarket boots.
