Can someone please explain to me what a chip does other than bump the timing and is that really that big of a deal?
your gains are most likely due to the other mods before it. On a stock GT is where the 1-3 HP #'s come from but when you add LT's and High Flow midpipe now the catback is the cork. This is why every mod will help eventually just not always as a stand alone mod.XtorT'r said:Nope sorry, I'm never believing that again. I have no idea where people got that from. After I already had long tubes and Prochaber and all my other mods my numbers were at 262/297 which was repeatable. We exparamented to test the 1-2 rwhp gains theory on the same day and found that I got up to 7rwhp and 6rwtq with out stock muffs. My tuner did not touch my tune in between runs either. There is a small amount of power to be had there.
I would have purchased a catback years ago if I hadn't been listening to this 1-2 rwhp nonsense.
As far as I am concerned it has been dyno proven to me infront of my own eyes. Perhaps mustangs of different years had better flowing Muffs, mine apparently does not flow well.
That also explains why I have been seeing guys up by me having CAI, plenum&tb, tune, pullies, and catback making 250ish on the same dyno I use.
I'd be more likely to think it was error if it was on a different dyno and if we had been messing with air temps to skew results.
Last dyno before swapping to a mufflerless system

Max torque = 297.59 Max Power = 262.50
Dyno after I ditched fords poopy muffs

Max torque = 303.45 Max Power = 269.29
Thats what I was starting to think. Thats also why I decided to keep my accufab plenum, it might give me more as I continue to mod.DropTopPony said:your gains are most likely due to the other mods before it. check out one of my earlier posts...i posted a link to someone selling a used plenum/tb on the corral.Mustang5L5 said:True it is a lot of money for a little gain. I'm trying to see if there is a HUGE difference between brands in terms of HP gains.
There are a few no-name plenums on Ebay for about $75 or so. WOndering if these are junk or worth a shot? Also tyring to see if porting the stock plenum is worth anything. Maybe i'll see if i can find a cheap used 70mm on ebay or the classifieds
WHo knows in the future i might upgrade the mid-pipe but as of right now i don't want to. I just want to do something go get a few extra HP.
-=NightHawk=- said:general consensus is the plenum will give u a few horses, 75mm tb wont do anyhting for ur stock engine
for only a few horses i would home port ur spare and save a few bucks to see what itd grant you
correct me if im wrong please

It depends on the car and DYno. I know a few dyno owners and they have dynoed stock Pi cars making as little as 200rwhp. and as high as 230 rwhp stock.Mustang5L5 said:Only 206HP to the wheels? I thought our cars were putting around 225HP to the ground stock?
