Plenum testing protocol ???s

Don't waste your time resetting the computer. The short time that you have for the computer to relearn will just screw things up more. Instead of relearning how to react to one simple mod, the computer will have to try to figure out how to react to all your mods again. That will require more driving time then you have. Just swap the stuff, and take it for a quick drive. The computer will have a much easier time relearning that way. It is not like you are doing a serious mod that will dramatically change the way the engine works (i.e. like cams). Well, that is my opinion anyways.

Good luck, and make sure you do atleast 2 pulls for each setup or else it is a waste. 3 would be better, but to save time you can probably get away with 2. Just make sure that you do every thing exactly the same for each setup.

Since its money from your pocket, its pretty nice of you to ask for opinions on how you should set it up. Just be forwarned, everyone who will critique your dynos will have no knowledge of this thread lol.

The only concern I would have has been posted already, and thats the concern with the computer "learning" each TB/Plenum combo. The good thing is you are taking it out on the hw after each swap, so that should help get the mod on a friendly basis with the comp :D.

Everything looks great though man, great idea :nice:

Well, I'll post a link to this thread when I post up the results. There will be an article on www.modulardepot.com and I'll just post the article which will have all my results, dynos, and pics.

That way folks will all see the same info and be able to look at this thread.

Now I have conflicting info as to take the battery off/leave it on. Is there an authority on this board or someone most people respect to make a final decision?

Like a tuner, pro racer, or engine builder?

my .02 would be just do the test without it. no one respects me though. I think the the normal data with show a trend. the trend is all I am looking for. which one preforms the best when just slapped on. I do think that if they are all done the same it will be hard for people to complain.

maybe see what cobra killer thinks. he seems to be the man that tunes lots of cars.

Excellent! Thanks in advance for doing this. When do expect to finished with the test?

I hope to finish the test be early afternoon. I have to send all the data to the one that's gonna actually write the article, he sends it back to me to proof, then make corrections/changes.

It'll then be posted on www.modulardepot.com so I only have to post a link and I won't have to host the pics/dyno sheets.

CottonBurnerz - you should be there, I am at 250 SAE with my mods. and I don't have longtubes. There are many different combos. to achieve 250 rwhp. But, 250-260 SAE seems to be about the max with just bolt-ons.
