Whenever one of these threads pops up and the specs are posted, I have to ask (some of us are wondering):GTOReturns said:OK,,here it is. 1989-90 is 044

A bigger gap will be more likely to "blow out" at wot, but will provide better spark kernels at low rpms.
A smaller gap can help with cold starts as well.
I don't completely trust my memory on the above points, it has been a while since I considered plug gaps.
Can someone confirm or correct the above?

When I worked with CSK, I noticed that in some cases spark plugs offered by two different manufacturers would list different gaps, even though they were going in the same engine. The autolites always came up as .054" for my stang, though.HISSIN50 said:Dem points you made sound good to me.
I read about them carb thingies once. Not sure on that.![]()
I'm still just hung up on the differing plug gap specs offered on the forum. I think 5L5 and I [and maybe you too Jason] were wondering about it the other day on another thread. A TFI ignition is a TFI ignition.![]()

What was the source for this info?
Can anyone think of any reason/revisions to parts that would require the smaller plug gap for the years posted above?
