Plugs too cold?

if a spark plug is 2 cold you will start to get fouling(ie carbon build up) on the tip of the plug. pull them and have a look.

It seamed to run fine at WOT but it idles like **** and surges. Almost seems like it is running really rich. It's hard to tell though because I have summer tires on and it's pretty cold out today so tires spun pretty bad. I think I might need a hotter plugs.

I'd think the 23's would be alright (I've run two ranges colder on other cars before without issue. I've only gone one range colder on a 5.0 though [but it's N/A]).

I agree - pull them or atleast one plug and see what gives. They're copper or irridium plugs, right (not plats)?

Good luck.

Yeah Coppers. I'll have to pull one off and see what it looks like

Well, after I put the the old spark plugs back in on the right side of the engine and started on the left (pain in the azz because of SC) I realized that I had left one of my plug wires sitting against the headers. It obviously melted. STUPID HUH!! So I got a new plug wire and put all my old plugs back in and it runs like a champ.

The question remains though, are 23's to cold for my setup and how important is plug gap. The 23's gapped @ .036 were obviously not burning all of the fuel. The 24's that were in there seemed to run decent but they were gapped @ like .050. Should I get new 24's and gap them somewhere in the middle like .043 and see how that works? Thanks for the help.
