Pokageek's Drivetrain Review - Gforce Transmission made by promotion

NOISE UPDATE: I dont know what the TKO sounds like but this GForce makes alot of noise in town driving. HWY is fine. I doubled checked and it does have the .64 5th. It also says on the tag that because of the more sturdy gears, it will make more noise.

Today I removed the shifter console and removed the washer alias "boot protector" b/c it was rattling like a mofo. My car really vibrated like hell with that big cam. No necessarily complaining but just note that when you go over a certain ratio, our cars become rattle buckets....SO, I went to a fabric store, and insulated the shifter with some serious foam and duck tape and closed it back up.

THEN, I added rubber gasket material around the shifrter console to keep that from vibrating. I also shimmed up various suspect VIBRATION spots on the interior in attempts to quiet that stuff.

My next project will be to put 2 layers of padding down and new carpet including insulating the tunnel area under the console to quiet down the drive line and exhaust loudness. With my decibel meter I decided 90 db is too high for the cabin area.

Try using dyna mat or fat mat... its great for car audio uses but ive also seen it used on the firewall to quiet noise... :nice:

Popping out of gear is usually a synchro....you just installed that bad boy. I don't see how a synchro could go bad so soon but thats definately what it sounds like. i would call promotion and see what they have to say.

Edit: Could be a shift linkage/fork also...but ours are internal so the tranny would have to come out anyways.
