Polished my wheels. Not happy.

I took my wheels to a local guy to get them polished and he didn't do too good of a job. They're still rough and show a lot of pores. Here are some pics. Help me polish them out more guys.

They didn't even polish the inside of the wheel. They said the buffer couldn't go in there. I guess its better, I'll just paint the inside black.

There was nothing wrong with them, I just wanted blingage. You can hardly tell that they're polished from a distance.

How much did you pay for this??? And whats up with the painted studs and lug nuts???

Search a polishing thread on here, Start with 400 grit on the somewhat smooth stuff and use 150 or 180 on the ruff and repolish. It will take you awhile and it will be dirty but it will look 100 times better.

I'd definitely raise a fuss if he charged you for this. Have them redone or get your money back or something.

I've seen bad polishing jobs before but at least they looked like they tried. These...

wow, that guy did a ****ty job. it looks like he was trying to scratch them/**** them up instead of polishing them. i say either get your $ back or get him to redo it.

no offence but that looks like ****, the insides of the "spokes" arent even polished. It wouldn't take much to do it yourself, get some sandpaper, and some onebadpolish...and go to town...and get your ****in money back too

I haven't paid the guy yet. He's charging me $80. He has 2 of my wheels right now, which is what is stopping me from not paying him. I need to talk to him tonight, this IS bullcrap.

they look more like pics of the first step of polishing....like 200 grit stage...

Don't pay him a damn thing, get your wheels back from him. Either find someone else to do them or just paint them silver and save up for chrome wheels.

Yeah it looks as if he just buffed polished them with wax. Metal polishing is not going to cost just $80 and there must be a misunderstanding. It also looks as if you can still see the coating on the wheel.

Well I paid the SOB cause there was 4 of them. lol. It's all good. He did say that he went as high as 230 grit wetsanding(which is nothing) so I have to keep going.

The fact that he said wetsanding sets off my flag. He has no clue what he's doing and/or he's clinically retarded. Try taking some better pics of them, but from the looks of it, you need to go back DOWN to 120 to get it right, then start back up again. I suggest a buffing wheel with 120 grit (or maybe 100 grit) greaseless compound to start over. I guess you could do it by hand but it will take hours upon hours.

It's really a shame since you could have removed the paint/powder coat and STARTED with 220 since those wheels have a smooth casting.
