Polyurethane Trans Mount???

I was given a prothane polyurethane transmission mount when I did my T5 swap. I'm just now learning that you shouldn't use a polyurethane trans mount without poly or solid motor mounts. The car is my DD '89 GT so will I be able to sneak in a set of poly motor mounts by using a piece of wood and a jack or is there someone that makes a decent stock replacement trans mount?

There's no easy way to replace motor mounts ... its not hard its just that you have to remove a few things to get the motor lifted to where you can remove the old mounts but id go poly motor mounts I have solids now and they suck I hate them im going back to poly

I'd never heard that about the need for poly motor mounts w/ a poly trans mount. I ran a poly trans mount for years with no problems and stock motor mounts.

I seem to recall reading that you shouldn't mix or match as well, but like Cardudeusa says, I too have been running a poly trans mount with stock motor mounts for 10 years now.

agreed I had a poly trans mount for years before i added the poly motor mounts with zero problems

never heard you cant with poly's but ive heard its a big no no to run all solids... always to leave the stock trans mount.
