Pontiac G6, good or bad...I want to hear

My wife drives it mostly she drives like **** and my brakes are pretty good. Pontiacs all have the same problems but alot of the things the dealership will fix for free. There is a bulletin on the vanity mirrors and they replace them for free.

They wouldn't replace the brakes though...only cut the rotors. You can still see some of the grooves still. They claim it as normal wear and tear even though i've seen plenty of sub-20K mile G6's with the same probs

I am a tech at a Toyota dealership, and did a short stint selling Fords (kinda fell into it - not telling that story now). I have seen a LOT of GM trades at both dealerships and can definitely tell you two things. 1) Quality = suxzor, esp compared to Toyotas and 2) Resale/Trade value = MAJORLY SUCKS. Example: 2006 Buick Rezendevouz FULLY loaded to the gills with every option, perfect condition with 18k miles was getting 15.5k in trade in November 2007. It was a nearly 40k car when new. That nasty price killed a deal for me. I also have to work on them to get them shaped for my Toyota dealer to sell. All I can say is junk junk junk. As soon as they go out of warranty they get traded in like crazy.

The Fusion, on the other hand, is a GREAT car. I can definitely say that I was very very impressed with them when I started with Ford. I almost leased one but decided not to get myself into a monthly payment. During my time with Ford, there was ONE traded in and it was on a new Edge. Haven't seen one traded in at Toyota yet.

I woulda gone with the Fusion, no doubt. Ford's new tagline on there commercials = "Drive One" - do exactly that. Drive One. Pretty impressive.

Just ordered some wiper blades for a customer. They had to be O.E.
Their costing her $50.00 for the pair. That's list straight from the dealer. We carry the rain-x brands here and they don't fit.
That does not say anything about how good the car is, guess I just wanted to let ya know how much your blades are gonna cost.

i work at a pontiac dealer and i work on g6's all day long. they do seem to go through break alot faster than other cars. the intermediate shaft is always clunky even after replacing it. the sunroof drains pop off the sunroof and leak large amounts of water in the car before anyone seems to notice. i cant tell you how many of these cars ive gutted and replaced the carpets in them. the leak can do some serious damage.

They are called beam blades and anco makes em for 12 bux each.

Ah the Irony

Was with my friend last night driving her G6 GTP.

Front end was clunking like a mofo. Going in for service AGAIN.

My 60K Mile Mustang has a more solid ride then her brand new GTP

Lol. It's fast but it's not as fast as the Mustang :)

When it was brand new i seriously liked the car. It's just the constant probs that turned me off. I love driving it though because for a 4-door car it has plenty of balls. :) I have beaten a couple 94-98 GT's with it.

But my '03 is def faster :)

I have never driven a GTP so I cannot comment, but this little G6 gt has the 217hp 3.5L in it and it scoots pretty good.

I hope I fair better than your friend when it comes to the maintainance issues:rolleyes:

The GTP has 252.

I've actually raced a kid in a G6 GT and beat him in her GTP. It does scoot along really well actually. I'd bet that it would be a solid 14 second car.

Yeah I could see high 14's or low 15's in it. Not too bad for a 4 door daily driver with a V6...I have gone through a tank of gas over the weekend, a pretty good mix of city and back road driving and got 26mpg which seems decent. So far I like the car, my wife is happy and off my back to find her a new ride so for now I'm in good shape.

I still think the girl in your avatar looks like her, except my wife doesnt have D cups:nonono:
