Poor Throttle Response

So we have a one of the last races at the drag strip this weekend and i want to see what my new found PI heads and Intake can do. The last time I went to the strip the tech guys told me I couldn't race again unless I got a dual throttle return spring. So I go and buy the race springs today and installed them tonight to try them out. NOT HAPPY!!!! I have to absolutely stomp on the gas in order to get the throttle to open wide. There felt like there was no snap. Has anyone else seen this before? What the heck is the point of going to the track if I can't get the most out of my wagon. I think i might go and get a little tiny spring to hook on but won't create so much drag. Anybody got a solution?

damn man just goto the retail store and get a 2 side spring and match and play might take a few trys..

modulars are high reving engines...u wanna have it be loose enough for good foot action yet firm enough that its not weak..
