OK the wife has admitted she has no clue on what to get me for Christmas. Then the question was popped, ....................................................................................

Do you want something for the Stang????????
Usually when I say I want something for the car she rolls her eyes.

I was considering headers. I have stock headers now with an O/R H-pipe and flowmaster's.
1- How much more noise will come from headers. Same as power also.
2- Post a link or 2 on what you recommend for me to use. Most ppl will post from expierence, and that's what I want to hear.
3- I dont want to spend a fortune on this. ( it's still my/our money being spent.)

Any help is welcomed. Thanks in advance.

If you get full length, youll probably have to get a new h-pipe. just something to keep in mind.

If you get shorties, you wont really notice much of anything besides sound maybe. I think AliateX has an issue with shorties... you might wanna ask him about it as well if he doesnt chime in.

I was like... "How did his wife 'pop the question' if she's already his wife?"

I had "Headman" equal length shorties. I would NOT recommend equal length as they get in the way of wires and clutch cable. I hated mine and wished I had bought shorties. They almost burned through the clutch cable no matter which way I bent it

I read in 5.0 Mag a few years ago that they dynoed equals and shorties. The numbers were 8hp (equal length) and 7hp (shorties). I did notice a difference with mine... But not much.

They definately give the car more of a growl.

I have MAC 1 5/8" equal length headers. I had to take the engine out of the mounts to get them in but have no problems with spark plug boots or anything like that. I would recomend to you to get something with a single solid flange, helps to keep them from warping. Use copper gaskets and you will have no problems!

I have the Ford Racing/FMS Jet Hot coated shorties and I like them a lot. They look almost the same as the day I bought them.

Get something she can see while you two are driving down the road in it. My wife is the same way" Rolls "her eyes when I wanted something for my Mustang. She popped that question to me a few times. I told her I'd get something she can see. I had her get me my Monster Tach, Hurst shifter, Dual quad intake with carbs,. Etc. Women want to see what they spend their money on. That way they know where it went.

Just to be on the other side of things........ in lookin at your sig, I'm not sure you're outrunning the stock headers.

Instead of getting something she can see, if you don't mind having it be something she feels (boy, did that come out wrong), and you will have additional funds available, I'd ask for gears (the additional cost will be the install labor). Just an idea.

Enjoy the gift!

HMMM gears, thought about that to. They run under $200.00 dont they? I figured I will be awarded about $200.00-$250.00. I see headersd for less and then some for more just dont know what to get.
I also thought about starting my paint job fund.

What is a decent labor cost to have someone install gears. We dont install gears here we just replace the whole rear differential.
