So like I said in the other thread... I just got my 89GT back out with the new stock springs and new 17"x9" wheels. It had problems going into 1st gear at first. After driving about 10 minutes it started popping out of 1st and 3rd.

It hasn't been driven since October. I have an adjustable clutch cable (came with car- purple threaded piece at firewall on cable). I also have a Hurst short throw shifter. The stops are out on the shifter and the clutch cable adjustment won't stay put... could the clutch cable cause this? It has some kind of racing clutch in it too... not the tranny is it?

I would guess its the clutch cable. Try getting under the car and tighting it up. I think its supposed to be about 25lb of tow. Also check to make sure you have a new quadrant, not the stock plastic one. If not, replace it with one like bbk makes. If it does make sure the cable is seated properly. If that doesnt fix it you may have an aftermarket clutch cable. Those tend to stretch over time and its probably best to replace it with an OEM one.

Quadrant and Cable... check.

I don't know beans about that adjustable one, every time I adjust it out, the big a** turny thingy just turns itself back in by the next day... but she's never done this before! I think it does have a stock quadrant b/c I can adjust the pedal out by pushing and pulling. Also, I'm hating the racing clutch... HATE!!! The freakin' car peals out slightly even if you ride the clutch.
