Popping

I just had an in dash dvd put in my 2001 GT Vert and I'm still using the stock Mach 460 amps and speakers, but there is a popping noise upon turn on. I read that I need to add a 1k resistor in the amp turn on lead but it doesn't say what specific resistor to use. Also it doesn't say where exactly to put the resistor, does it have to be in a certain spot? Thanks.

Planning on Adding 4 Channel and 2 Channel amps in the near future, but I want to get rid of the popping noise for the moment

Use a turn on dealy. we make the PAC TR-4 but theres other products out there.

Well it also pops when I change tracks on cds or switch modes (Aux, Ipod, Tuner, Dvd) Won't the "turn on dealy" just turn off the amp and back on every time I switch over?

the adding the resistor or our piece wont help.The problem is your using a powered stereo into amps.You just need to bypass the amps.That is one of the problems when you try to keep the Mach amps. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt
