Got a question about head and intake Port and Polishing. I have a 1993 Cobra, and am considering doing this. The car already comes factory with the GT-40 heads and Cobra intake, blah, blah, blah..........but there are the cast iron heads, not the aluminums. Weight aside, what other power advantages or differences are there between the cast iron and aluminum heads. I'm not going to go with the aluminums but I was wondering if it would be wise and worth getting more out of my heads? Since they are GT-40 they already are high flow and I'm not sure if doing this would be bad for the engine. Also the intake is teh Cobra intake which is stock. Same question there too as the heads. Is it worth it and is it safe for the engine since it's already a high flow part. Thanks

Hope this isn't too much of a nOOb question!

its not gonna hurt anything to port and polish them...if its done correctly. if you plan on doing it urself you should get the lower intake port matched to the heads, and make sure your ports are as identical as possible. Definitely do it. It's much less expensive then buying new heads/intake setup.
