How can you tell when your posi has given up the ghost? I jacked the rear of my car up and had a buddy hold one wheel while I turned on the other. I could get the wheel to spin forward with pretty light effort while the other was held. Is it time for new clutches in the posi?

I got a few quotes for around $200 for a rebuild, parts and labor. That sound right?

The burnout test is a real good way to check.

If you can cause the clutches to slip with your buddy holding the wheel then its definatly not going to hold the torque your car puts down, invest in a quality rebuild kit. Good luck

Is a rebuild on the posi clutch something I can do myself or should I let a pro take care of it?
