I was reading about the proceedure of punching and taping the pan for the oil feed line to the SC. The real concearn seems to be around metal debris getting in the pan from the tapping process. The standard fluted tap in it's design cuts the threads into the metal..by doing so will create metal debris, however the cutting tool industry does have what is called a "roll form" tap..this tap infact does not cut the threads, but "forms" them by displacing the metal and creating the thread shape. The roll form tap is non fluted and non cutting..takes a little more HP or umph to use because of the method of thread forming, and the hole size a little more critical, but IMO a much safer method free of debris and creates a high quality thread.
