Been racking my brains about this the last month.

I'm bored of my GT. Not bored with Mustangs, but i hate having two Mustangs and one as a DD. I NEED something that can move in the snow. I've decided to keep the Fox, sell the GT and get a normal Daily Driver (specifically a white 2006 G35X w/ AWD)

Problem is it's the middle of winter, there is snow and salt on the ground and i can't keep my car cleaner for more than 1 day here.

I'm tempted to trade it in if i can locate the model i want at a dealership, but i'll prob take a HUGE hit on the car. Last dealer wanted to give me $8000 for it (2003 GT with 41K miles)

But i don't want to list it privately because who would buy a Mustang in Dec or Jan? It has summer only sport tires on it so they can't even drive it really now (even though i do carefully)

Am i better off dealing with it until spring, and then cleaning it up when the weather starts to get nicer and listing it?? I figure when warm weather comes, someone is going to want a nice car to drive around with and i can at least get what it's worth. If i can at least get $11K i will be happy

Problem is now i need to find a winter beater to last til spring. :(

Decisions, decisions, :(

In your part of the country, it may be tough to get a good selling price this time of year. I think you would be better off waiting until spring to try and sell it.

I know what you mean about finding a winter beater. I've had to drive my GT the last two winters.:notnice:

The two times I've tried to sell my car its been winter/fall, both times nothing but a few slightly interested potential buyers but obviously nothing ever panned out. I too would love to sell for the right price (really I just want money for my mods and $2000 for the car LOL...) and buy an AWD daily/toy (Audi S4 and TT quattro are my current favs, heh). If you trade to a dealer, you're likely to get less than you want - but due to the rapidly growing depreciation 99+ mustangs are experiencing lately, you might end up getting the same now as you would in a couple months come spring time.

Can't believe they're only going to give you $8K. I checked BB on mine recently and its worth $12K for trade in, I have same year and 50K miles. I understand its winter and they will give you slightly less but 1/4th of its value.

Well i have it listed on CL right now. If someone buys it they buy it, if not, i drive it til springtime when i assume people will be interested in a car like mine. I listed it for $12,500 which i think is fair for the condition it is in. We'll see though. As long as i get more than $10K i'll be happy. I paid $16K for the car back in 2004, so losing $4000-6000 over 4 years seems decent to me. I absolutely love the car, but i've gotten a little more mature and career-orientated so i feel weird pulling up to the office in a loud ass Mustang all the time. Hence the reason why i want the infiniti.

I'll still search for a beater for the winter. I can't take driving this thing in the snow. I bought snow tires, but haven't put them on but now don't even want to bother.

If i get a beater, i'll just sell everything come spring and get what i want.

I'll still be in the Mustang hobby. As soon as i get a nice DD, i'm going nuts with the 5.0

FYI, you may not want to drone an about how your replacing it since it sucks for winter when you're selling it in winter:D

Stick or auto?

I have an 03 Nissan spec V that the dealer offered 7800 for trade in this past weekend and it has 53600 on the clock. 6 speed, front wheel drive with posi and a 4.13:1 gear. Thing is like a 4x4 truck in the snow with snow tires.

I was looking for an 03-04 auto equipped GT Stang to put some snows on. Wife can't drive stick nor do I want to teach her on a FWD car.

In October 2002 I listed a 1995 GT Convertible. Procharger P600B, GT40 aluminum heads and intake, 3 core intercooler etc...ran 13.0's-13.2 @ 113mph with a 3.08 gear. 39,000 miles. Very nice. I sold it December 2002...2 WEEKS BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!! I couldn't believe it, but the guy came an bought it no problems.
