Possible trade 98 f-150 for 97 cobra????

have a chance to buy super clean(stcok) 97 cobra, red black interior, 80,000 miles with two adult owners, he just wants to get rid of toy and get truck. asking 9,500 but will possible trade for 98 xlt short wheel base truck 4x4 with new tires and wheels, sorry no pics. whats his car worth???

i'm going to say about $10-12,000 maybe a little more. probably not a bad trade if you want some fun.

i plan to go check out hte car this weekend, i would like to trade straight but not likely, kbb show the car worth 1,500 to 2,000 more than my truck. is there anything i should look for on the car as bad things

You might get an even trade...you never know what you can get if you just ask. I'd make sure that there are no mystery screw holes in the trunk area or near the rear seats...evidence that someone had NOS. The car sounds like a good deal for $9500.

If he will straight up trade then do it for sure! Maybe even throw him $1000, sounds like a nice car.

he wont trade cause he's gettin rid of all cars, askin 8,500 cause he found a car to buy, do these cars have a strong feelin clutch, i drove a 97 gt that had a real loose feelin clutch but it wasnt slippin

For $8500, that sounds like a deal. The clutch is pretty tight. You can adjust it by putting your foot under clutch pedal and by lifting up on it. Perhaps the owner of the GT you drove didn't know that.

I have a 97 Cobra and I LOVE it. I paid roughly $8k for mine last year but it had 120k miles on it. The body was good, a couple paint chips and one small rip in the leather...overall pretty clean for a 10 yr old car. It is still all stock (except the Mach 460 stereo system which I yanked) and it scoots pretty good.
