on a 86 coupe can i remove the brake booster to convert to manual brakes with out a $90.00 adapter ? thats a ton of money for a small piece of aluminum with a few holes in it. i have done this on a Oldsmobile before the master cylinder mounted to the stock booster location and i shortened the brake rod. worked fine. the reason i did that on my 66 442 was you needed to remove the booster to get the last 2 push rods out on drivers side at fire wall . on the coupe just easier to work on the engine.
