Power Slot rotors with lots of little cracks?

Anyone seen power slot rotors with a lot of small cracks throughtout the entire rotor? I do road race and I have brought the temps ups up multiple time. None of the cracks look deep or are longer than a centimeter in length, but there are hundreds of them. Is this something I should worry about? I have EBC Green stuff brake pads all the way around. I have Powerslot cross "Dimpled" and slotted rotors on front, and standard antics on the back - they look fine.
 
i would certainly be concerned about a lot of little cracks. the structural integrity of the rotor is compromised. it will likely just get a lot worse. i would NOT drive the car like this myself.

I've never tried that product, but I've always stayed away from slotted and hole'd rotors due to their tendency to crack. Not sure what you're demands are, but consider replacing with a 13" cobra type setup in front
 
The rear brakes don't do enough work to worry with; but I'd sure talk to the folks at Power Slot to see what they say. I don't know of anyone that warranties a product that's used in racing applications. And regular street use is highly unlikely to ever get even the front rotors hot enough to cause those kinds of issues.

If you want bulletproof rotors on the front, there are companies with racing heritage that can provide rotors that will stand up to the rigors of racing. Brembo and Baer are two that come to mind, unless you fit a set of Porsche brakes on the front of that thing. ;)
 
UPDATE -Power Slot Rotors are NO good

I called Power Slot Tech Support and they told me that the EBC green stuff pads caused the cracks due to over heating. He is probably right(they have a very high drag coefficient), but if these rotors cannot take heat build up from performance brake pads, even if it is from racing I cannot and will not recommend them. They are not standing behind there product at all. The tech guy told me that they were not designed to withstand those high temps. I was under the impression that these rotors were for performace applications, and for $110.00 a piece I would hope that they would perform better. I have only raced 5 15min heats. 3 of the heats were in the rain so I could not even heat up the brakes that day. So a total of 30min of hard driving and these rotors were shot. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY POWER SLOT!!!!

Anyone with Power Slot rotors what to tell me about their experience please do.
 
Someone has to build some quality rotors that will last more than 5 race events! I should get a complete season out of a pair of rotors! I guess the next step would be to drop a few hundred pounds. Would this Help? I still do not recommend Power Slot to anyone!


I would like to know if there are any alternatives that I should try that would not require me to replace my entire brake setup.
 
Not really in defense of Powerslot, but I did a quick check on Brembo slotted rotors and EBC dimpled slotted rotors aren't warranted if you use them on the track. Seems to be a 'standard' in the industry. This note was added to all the slotted rotors on Tirerack's site.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Slotted, drilled or dimpled rotors offered as OEM replacements should not be considered appropriate for high-speed track use.

While grooved, drilled and slotted rotors offer an enhanced appearance and add some resistance to the boundary layer of gasses that can build up between the pad and rotor, they are not designed to withstand the extreme temperatures that are produced on the racetrack. If they are used on the track, it is very important that the rotors be carefully inspected and should not be driven on if even minor signs of deterioration are seen. Note, too, that if these products are used on the track they are not warrantable.


In addition, this note was added to the Brembo crossdrilled rotors.

Note: (Front) Drilled vented rotors. Excludes Cobra models. Not recommended for track use. Do not use with race compound brake pads. Drilled rotors are not warranted against warping or cracking.
