Power Steering Compatibilty

Will a power steering system from a '70 mustang work in my '65? I have access to an entire setup from my neighbour (front end cut off the car and still assembled including pump, hoses, pitman, idler, center link, tie rods, spindles) and was needing to know what parts are or aren't compatible.

the problem is that the 67-70 mustangs, as far as the front suspension goes, are wider by about 2" than the 65-66 cars, so basically it wont fit right. you will have bump steer problems. you might be able to use the power assist ram, and some of the brackets, but everything else you will need to get from a 65-66 mustang.

Trying to make it work will only test your patience. And like already stated, it will probably do more harm than good considering the spacing and fitment issues you'll have.
