How much does powershifting net you guys? I have to lift shift 3rd because if I don't I just bounce off the rev limiter trying to make it go in. I know I need practice but I want to know how much time I'm loosing. I'm running 9.0x's and 9.002 is my best. I want to see 8's flash on that screen before I throw it on the jug... secondly, will a 125 zex get me high 7's? This is all in the 8th...

Well i doubt powershifting will get you any at all, just learn to drive it w/o powershifting and you'll see more outta that than with powershifting. Your mods sound like you should already be in the 8's.

Proper powershifting will typically net you one or two tenths. It will also make fairly short work of a T-5. If you just shift at WOT (some people call that powershifting) then you'll get some benefit without as much risk. But I'd still plan on rebuilding or replacing the T-5. Especially if you strap on a 125 shot...

I would say it depends on how fast you can speed shift. Killercanary doesn't powershift but on the other hand, powershifting is consistently good for 2 tenths for me. I have been trying for a year now to match my powershifted E.T's by speedshifting but my speedshifting is just too slow. Some poeple can run the good times without the need to powershift. I can't. I would say to try powershifting and see if you make up that time. The T5 can take powershifting for a while, it's the missed shifts that hurt it the most. And when I say "Powershift" I do mean to use the clutch and shift without lifting.

Also, I powershifted for about 2 years before my T5 grenaded.

Thanks, powershifting, as I understood it is never lifting your foot off the gas for the entire run and just shifting as quick as possible as opposed to what I'm doing on my shifts. I'm quite a bit quicker with the 1-2 shift but I still have to lift throttle during the shift. 3rd I've just realized is horrible, theres a good second to half a second before I get it from 2nd to 3rd because everytime I try to go fast I botch it up and hit the rev limiter... and then it's high 9's city... I guess all this boils down to me practicing more...

I would like to add though in my defense there was an 05 gt there couldn't break into the 8's either... maybe it was the track and air? and he was running 9.1's to 9.2's... I know because he always ran against me... and I always won...
