with this package you get the wrapped and stitched instrument panel brow.
Now i think this is leather? I live in the south and was wondering with the heat how durable this is it, or if it going to dry out in a year or two. Does any body have experience with it? The dealer tells me it is not destroyable and so on.

I have the package. The door rest, or at least part of it, is also leather as is the console lid. I love the looks of it.
I've only had it a couple of months and can't answer your question.
I am assuming the leather needs the same care as leather seats. Then again not all of the leather seats is actually leather. A large part of it is vinyl.
Any long-term experience out there?

The onl problems I have had is that the metal steering wheel spokes are easy to scratch so be carefull if you wear rings and/or let your wife drive with rings.

My wife scratched the console in her vehicle with rings.
That's another reason Ford needs to consider the materials it uses. There has to be something that doesn't scratch so easily yet doesn't cost a fortune.

I have that upgrade, and I really like it. It takes away from that 'Hi, I'm a plastic minivan interior!' Look-and-feel of the base-line interior.

The single biggest problem with American cars is the interior, in my opinion. Every darn Ford or GM I have owned in the last 1.5 decades had its interior fall apart long before the drivetrain. This is the first american car I have owned that I (1) LIKE the interior and (2) have confidence that its going to hold up until I am done with it. I think the interior upgrade, trim and comfort group options really make this a quality car- costs some $$$, but worth it. Outside my office and my bed (8 hours a day!), the two places I spend most of the rest of my time are my basement workshop and my car... So make the darn car comfortable! Its worth it!

I have an all plastic 2005 Roush interior and the door panels look like a Ford Aspire, all plastic.
If for nothing else I wish I had the leather on the door panels. They look geh with just all gray plastic there.

Yeah, I ordered mine too. My work has a Ford x-plan benefit, which lands the price right about at invoice. No better than what you could get with good dedicated haggling, but this way I could order exactly what I wanted and nothing else. Dealers tend not to want to haggle much on factory orders, at least in my experience around here. Anyway, I can't wait for winter to try on my heated seats.

Frankly- I love the black w/beige leather highlight tone in my black car. Its beautiful and classy.

I actually like the upgraded Mustang interior in many ways more than I like the interiors of some of the euro cars I was looking at, like Saab and BMW (but the Infiniti G was awesome, no topping that). Yeah, sure, I don't have fancy interfaces for every darn widget that I'd never use and don't care about- but I work with tech every day... When I want to switch on my AC, I want to turn a darn dial, not program in temperature and humidity and spend 10 minutes fiddling with 'interfaces'. Plus I grew up pitching bags of cattle cubes off the back of a beat up Ford truck, and my family is a 3-generation-loyal Ford type. I just can't imagine myself in a gussied-up bimmer or Saab. Yeah, sure, there is still some cheap plastic here and there that looks a bit like an old MaBell Bakalite rotary special, but as long as that v8 keeps me mushed into my seat and my adrenaline glands pumping out the juice, I think I'll manage quite nicely

BTW, Roush has some nice carbon-fiber cover-pieces that look pretty durable and might cover over the last of that unloved plastic. Not really my cup of tea, but typically Roush puts out quality. No experience with them personally, but it might be something you'd like.

If I keep this one for a long time (will depend on what the next iteration is like, and if I get a garage for a convertible in my next house), which I usually do with cars, I might buy something like it if the interior starts showing signs of wear.

I have the package also, and it's very nice. My old 07 GT didn't have it and this one makes the interior look and feel much more upscale. Very glad I got it!

The premium trim package does NOT get you colored inserts in the black seats. What you'll get is two-tone door panels and dash, and the seats will be all black, with the carpet being the lighter color you selected. If you ordered chamois or red, then the seats will be that color instead of black, but again, solid seats - NOT two-tone seats with inserts.

The only factory Mustang seats with the two-tone (colored inserts) are for the Shelby GT500 (black/red) or the California Special (black/parchment or black/dove).

Well, that's very interesting. I hope that I managed to order them. I told the sales guy that I wanted this (from the '08 brochure):

For them to put in the order code for this I had to order the Premium Trim kit. The order code was KC for the Black/Parchment Color Accent interior. Unfortunately, the picture in the brochure does not say what it is.

Any confirmation would be muchly appreciated.
