I am scratching my head a little bit here? How on earth do mufflers add that kind of HP? I suspect the car cooled signifigantly between the first and 2nd pull?

Also, his explanation about the gears and the HP? I don't buy that either. Gears don't increase HP; rather they help you get it to the ground faster. Maybe I'm missing something here.....

gears don't increase horsepower, they only multiply torque better. As far as the mufflers I saw a 15 - 20 rwhp increase on a 99 cobra because the mufflers were so restrictive they were better suited to a Lincoln than a musclecar.
