Priority Code

When I called Ford yestorday, the robot lady informed me that the my color option has been holding down cars. Is that true? I didn't really want the my color option I wanted the Red leather seats. I wish there was a way to get the seats without the my color option. Any suggestions?

We have never had any issue with the IUP causing a delay. The robot lady has known issues.
good luck.

Ford contracted for too few my color clusters from the manufacturer. That manufacturer built its production capacity based on that original low order from Ford. However, they have since been trying to ramp-up (increase) production, and have succeeded, but progress is slow.

Ford made the exactly same mistake two years ago with the then-new IUP for the '03 models. Now they did it again for the IUP on the '05 models. One would think they would actually learn from their mistakes.

OK, so I finally got to order my new GT. satin silver with everything but the 1000 watt stereo and the aluminum wheels. Got an x-plan and a 10 on my order code from a smaller dealer about an hour out of town. But, I have questions. Should they have given me a copy of the DORA and what is that 800 #?
Yes they should give you a copy of the DORA. Ford robot lady is 800-962-3746

we are all not scum, but i know its hard to find a dealer you trust.congrats on your order, price and priority.

as a warning about whats to come-----------our orders are not being pulled by ford as quick as they were. a gt convertible i ordered has been in the order bank fo two weeks! from this point forward i will recommend waiting for 06.for the first time since introduction, our cars are not arriving or can't be guaranteed to arrive on time. we were selling an average of 8 a week, now that average is 2.5, only because we can no longer get any gt's and i am not telling my customers i can get their car on time. allocation has ben reached. :(

yellow....again, thanks for your insight. I know we may not like the answers you give, but at least we can be assured they are correct (as opposded to a lot of the "POO" we hear from dealers.

So, bottom line, even with the extra production, I'll assume Ford is just playing catch-up? Not neccessarily speeding up orders from this point forward?

In light of this, how's the outlook for '06 orders? Does it look like someone can get an '06 when they begin production around August/Sept?

I ordered mine on January 21. Fully loaded, GT Premium with Red Leather Interior, Shaker 1000 System, Bullitt Wheels, Power everything, Anti-Theft System, and interior upgrade package.

I've called my dealership every 2 weeks to check in since placing my order. I've heard every possible story involving set-backs, delays, etc. The first major issue was apparently the IUP which Ford ran out of (WHAT???). Production was supposedly halted temporarily until February. Mid-Feb rolled around and I called the dealership to check in. I was told there was a glitch with the driver's side airbag deploying incorrectly due to the IUP (WHAT???). Madness.

I called in late March and was told my baby would be here by the end of April. After several posts yesterday, I called today to check and they are confirming the delivery date with the 1-800-FORD people.

I'm staying calm and hoping to have an exact delivery date by the end of this week. Keep your fingers crossed!

Okay, now I'm getting pissed. I just called the 1-800-robot-lady and there was NO INFO for my car. I pressed ZERO # to speak with an analyst and they told me I would have to ask my dealership to call on my behalf. GRRR!

you need to pretend that you are from the dealership when you call this number. it is supposedly only for dealers to call. us mere mortals are supposed to rely on the dealers to provide us with timely and accurate information about the status of our orders. (and we ALL know that that happens EVERY DAY! :bs:)

ZenGirl, either you have the wrong information or the dealer did not put the order through. I would confirm with your dealer and make sure the order number and everything else is correct. If they gave you a VOC, the order number on that is the internal one for the dealer and not the same as the factory order number.

Thanks for the support, guys! I suppose I'm not being very Zen-like with all of this!! There's only so much patience a girl can have when WAITING for her new baby to arrive (smile!).

Okay, I have my VOC in front of me and I just got off the phone with the GM at my dealership. My car is "second in line for delivery" to the dealership. I hope this means it will be here by the end of April like they originally said.

Process for car production.

Does anyone know the process you go through when car is ordered.

I know clean and unscheduled.

Is serialized waiting for build date next?

How long is your build date from the time you are serialized?

How long from build to delivery?

Was told build date is usually 2 wks after serialized date.

Was told delivery is usually 3-4 wks after build date.

My order has been in for full loaded GT Prem conv w/ iup since Jan 13 and is still c/u. I talked to cs rep on status line and they said I should be scheduled anytime now.

Do you think my end of may expectation is till realistic?

I am thinking serialized by Friday 4/8
Build 4/22
get 5/22

I think My car can be built by May 01 and I will still get on time.

Sorry to ramble, but am ready to cancel if something does not happen soon.

One good thing is that I got being a dealer drom the dealership downpat. I use terms like 18g which is IUP.

Someone please reassure me. I have a priority of 19.
