PRO 5.0 trouble

I installed a PRO 5.0 shifter into my 95 GTS and it has been working fine, about two weeks later getting onto the freeway the shifter locked into second gear. When i moved the shifter out it was completly loose as if it wasnt hooked to anything. It feels like i broke it but i havnt opened it up to see what i've done yet.. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? Any help would be great. thanks!

It didnt happen on a hard shift either, just normal opertation.

Figured it out! The bolt holding the handle to the shifter slipped out, First time this has happend and thank god it did it in second gear...would have sucked having to limp my car home in first gear. Just another tool i'll have to leave in the car incase it happens again. Ill check it again soon to see if its doing it again.

Check with Pro 5.0 (I dont use that shifter) and see if they think some Blue threadlock would be appropriate.

Maybe use the threadlocker just to be sure!!

I have a Pro 5.0 and it has never happened....I don't think the the 2 bolts were tight enough or no lock washers were used. I have not used threadlocker and have never had a problem but it wouldn't hurt to be safe!
The only shifter I ever had one of the bolts come loose in was a Hurst and it was on the car when I bought it so who knows how tight it was to begin with?

It came with those washers and i made sure they were tight, im going to give it a few days and see what happens. If they start to come loose again ill call them up. Stuff likes to back itself out on my car i guess...spark plugs header bolts shifter handles.... ;p

ha this happened to my stock shifter one time and i was in the middle of racing so i couldnt stop to fix it. i punched my radio like 3 times going into third

ha ha ha!!! I know the feeling, i kept going holy crap this thing is shifting really smooth, then the second to third shift failed. Good times
