Pro Kit vs Sportline springs?

Alright guys I have decided to grab some Eibach springs for my sisters 94 GT. Now I want something that lowers it a little bit, but doesn't give it a harsh ride. Keep in mind it's her daily driver, sitting on some 17" 96 Cobra rims.

So which, Pro Kit or Sportline?

i personally think that the sportlines would be fine... i am running them as a daily driver, durin the summer with the 18s theyre wonderful... winter i run my stock tri bars and they handle just as well.... 2inch drop in the front, so to each his own....

i run the sportlines on my 95. from what i have seen, they are lower than the pro kit but you usually get the dreaded sportline sag . ride quality is decent. definetly can feel the bumps but isnt terrble. i have some pics but cant post them now because of works firewall . i'll post up later

IMHO, i think its a 50/50... not alotta people like a real big drop.... some think that extra .5 inch is too much...

btw, what is this sportline sag that everyone talks about? lol

I run the Pro kit. I switched from Bullits since I don't drive the cobra daily anymore. If daily drive, I would have stayed with the bullitts. For me, any lower than the Pro kit is too low. I have a vert and the vert brace sits really low.

Here's the Prokit (stock spring isolators reused - I mention it because that's important to know when viewing pics). Sorry for the small pic - there's a size limit with my account:

I have an aftermarket catted H and it scrapes occasionally - I dont know if I could do a lower spring with cats (just something to consider). I really like the ride with HP's (a nice budget-ish combo IMHO).

i forgot to add... im currently only running sportlines up front... im running the springs that are normally in the Bullits in the rear... it was only a .5 drop which helped me clear with bigger and beefier tires... failed to mention that...

does it matter if u reuse ur old isolaters rather than new ones. wut does it do?

The isolators keep the springs from rubbing on other metal parts, keeps the squeaks down.

I am also going to do lowering springs soon. I am going with the Pro-Kit because it drops the car enough, but not too much. And since Ohio roads are in such 'good' condition, too low might be very bad.

if the stock isolators aren't in bad shape you should be okay.
but while your in there might as well replace them, if you want.

Agreed on the isolators. I only mentioned it because the isolators (or lackthereof) make such a big difference in height. Poly isolators generally lead to a taller ride height (our stockers are chafed and squished).

I have owned Sportlines and they were not too bad as long as you keep the factory shocks.. When I went to Tokico blues the ride became much more stiff.. Pro kit barely lowers the car at all.. I have pics of a prokit 98 gt on my puter somewhere, (my buddies dads car).. He eventually lowered it another 1/2 inch with steeda x2s.. MY sportlines on my GT ride better than my stock 97 explorer if that helps, lol..

i have heard of this...just swapping out the ball joints for the x2's will drop 1/2" ? i want my front to drop about that much. if this works, that would give the exact stance i want

If the ride became more stiff, it was because you were now benefitting from dampers instead of riding on springs. Old stock dampers on big-drop springs aren't ideal.

I'll respectfully disagree about the Prokit hardly lowering a car. Have you looked at the stock 4x4 ride height lately? They were crazy from the factory (we get used to all having lowering springs so PK's seem mild, but compared to stock there's a huge difference).

I'm leaning towards the prokit springs now. My sister is young and just daily drives the car. She doesn't need it slammed into the weeds just something lower, that looks good. Not to mention there might be some bigger wheels in the future.

I also did the balljoints.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SWAP UNLESS YOU HAVE A TON OF PATIENCE... swapping the Balljoints was the most frustrating thing I have ever done on this car, and I've done EVERYTHING myself....

My stance after x2 balljoints, no isolators, and bbk springs (which are relabeled eibach prokits, I think)
