Lately all i've been hearing is about these heads. The specs. on there website seem very good. There smallest 180 heads flows with the afr 185. Does anyone own these heads or know of people that do? The price is also very appealing compared to afr's or ? The bottom line do they make power?
thanks in advanced

You will more than likely run into PTV problems with those heads. They will kill the low end power of the motor anyhow. They are too big for a mild 302. Unless you are going with an all out race 302, they are too big.

Like Joe said, they are a bit large for a 302. I hear they had some qaulity control issues with their castings but they are getting better. Check out hardcore50 and some of the other more race oriented sites as there is more info on them there.

Here is a little quote from shaver racing heads http://www.shaverracingheads.com/feature.htm

"Awesome Dyno Results on Cyclone Performance Ford Heads!
Terry at Competition Speed just reported awesome dyno results on their first engine using the new Cyclone head from Pro Topline. Designed for circle track power and endurance, the 358cid Windsor produced 490 pounds of torque at 5400 RPM and 603 HP at 6900 rpm. Out of the box 215cc runner Iron Cyclone heads flow 304cfm intake and 220cfm exhaust. These numbers compare favorably with Pro Topline published flow numbers at 314/202. Compression is 12:1. Comp Cam lift is about .700" with 1.7 rockers, for 256/262 at fifty."

That's a pretty big number for a 358, but it's cam is huge and it's compression is pretty high. I think these heads might be just the thing for a 408 stroker. They will let it breathe to 7,000+ rpm and with a 408, you never have to worry about torque.

I welcome any new manufacturer because competition will improve the breed.

Well I am putting a 392 or a 408 stroker together not sure which one yet. For a daily driver that i'll race on weekends. I was kinda thinking of the 180 topline's or vic jr. or afr 185's. Thanks

Vic. Jr's will out perform all of those. A better comparison is between the AFR 205's and the Vic Jr. Yes, both of these heads are very reliable. Remember, that the reliability isn't in the cylinder heads, it's mainly in the camshaft and the tune of the car.
